Vintage signed personal check. Bold, crisp signature in fountain pen. Personal check drawn on his account at The National City Bank of New York Madison Avenue branch. Signed less than 2 years before his untimely death at the age of 38. Also included is an 8×10 glossy photo of George and his brother, Ira. The photo has more information on the back. However, the feature of this listing is the vintage signed check. Check measures approximately 6 1/2″ x 2 3/4″. Wn/; born Jacob Bruskin Gershowitz, September 26, 1898 July 11, 1937 was an American composer and pianist whose compositions spanned both popular and classical genres. Among his best-known works are the orchestral compositions Rhapsody in Blue (1924) and An American in Paris, the songs Swanee (1919) and Fascinating Rhythm (1924), the jazz standard I Got Rhythm (1930), and the opera Porgy and Bess (1935) which spawned the hit Summertime. Gershwin moved to Hollywood and composed numerous film scores until his death in 1937 from a malignant brain tumor. His compositions have been adapted for use in films and television, and several became jazz standards recorded and covered in many variations. This is an 11×14 color photo. Signed by Alan Bean (March 15, 1932 May 26, 2018) was an American naval officer. He was the fourth person to walk on the Moon. He was selected to become an astronaut by NASA in 1963 as part of Astronaut Group 3. Before becoming an astronaut, Bean graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. From University of Texas at Austin. And re-joined the U. Navyhe served as an enlisted member for a year after his high school graduation. In 1956 he received his naval aviator wings, and served as a fighter pilot. In 1960 he graduated from the U. Naval Test Pilot School. Flew as a test pilot and was The New Nine. Selection finalist in 1962. He made his first flight into space aboard Apollo 12. The second crewed mission to land on the Moon. At age 37 in November 1969. He made his second and final flight into space on the Skylab 3. Mission in 1973, the second crewed mission to the Skylab. After retiring from the United States Navy. In 1975 and NASA in 1981, he pursued his interest in painting. Depicting various space-related scenes and documenting his own experiences in space as well as those of his fellow Apollo program. This photo is signed in gold sharpie in person. He also added an inscription. This photo autographed in person by Alan Bean is guaranteed authentic.
