Donna & Denise; the original owners of all of these sports & entertainment items; appear in a number of the photos. A good number of autographs are addressed to her or her then young daughter Denise. Donna was born in Chicago in 1936. Around 1949 she met young Tony Curtis & became vice-president of the Chicago chapter of Tony’s fan club. Kim Novak grew up in Donna’s neighborhood. Donna met & knew James Dean’s aunt & uncle who raised him. And she also met & knew James too. In 1949 Donna began her lifelong fascination with meeting & getting to know as many known & newly rising entertainers as possible. Donna went to work at the Chicago Hilton Hotel. Hilton himself later presented Donna with her 10 year gold pin. She met Tony Curtis, Tab Hunter, John Gary, Tony Leonetti, Jimmy Durante, Janet Leigh, Doris Day, Rock Hudson, etc. In 1958 Denise, her daughter, was born. In 1967 her daughter & her moved to L. A short time later Donna went to work at Sax 5th Avenue in Beverly Hills. Donna & her daughter Denise started going to the Carol Burnett show, Sony & Cher Show, Merv Griffin Show, Joey Bishop Show, Jim Nabors Show, etc. Where they gained the remainder of their autographs, photos, etc. There are many hundreds of celebrity items in this collection.
