Will Eisner, Signed, Personal Note to Rodney Schroeter (mid 1980’s) VF+. Pedigree: Obtained from the personal collection of Rodney Schroeter. Description by Schroeter follows. I believe it was 1981 when Will Eisner was scheduled to be Guest of Honor at the Chicago Comicon, but he had to cancel. He was injured while climbing a ladder, and a bee threatened him, or actually stung him. Wrote to Eisner at that time, wishing him well, etc. (and others) with this card. Has had this card since the incident described above. The images on this “card” were printed on a business letter size sheet of paper. It was then folded twice. There are thus three parts with illustrations. Cover, Eisner drawing of a ladder set against tree. Text: To all my dear, dear friends… Whose kind thoughts, considerate notes, gifts, visits, calls and attention aided my speedy recovery… ” Added to this, in Eisners hand, is “To. You said it, kiddo!! Eisner drawing of a bee laughing. “I Got Well Card” and Eisners White Plains address. Please take note that this a card with Eisner’s illustration. Printed , and Eisner’s original signature.
