Hello and thank you for looking. For your consideration is an extremely rare copy of Richard Avedons, Nothing Personal. This is not only a first edition 1964, but also personally inscribed by Avedon, and numbered 46/162. The inscription is to friend, and photographer, Howard Unger, and reads, For Howard Unger Avedon 1990. There is also a laid in card from Richard Avedon Studio, stating this copy is meant for Howard Unger. The book includes the original slip cover. The slip cover shows some signs of wear but is still crisp and intact. The book itself has some light soiling of the cover, but the pages are clean, crisp, and like new. Indeed, it looks as though this book was rarely, if ever looked through. Full page black-and-white photographs by Richard Avedon, designed by Marvin Israel. First edition of Avedon’s second book, a broad photographic portrait of America in the late’50s and early’60s interspersed with an essay by James Baldwin on the brutalities and contradictions of American life.
